this is an art project in which i photograph hundreds of people from all over the world posing in a way that evokes the central figure in botticelli’s painting the birth of venus.
everyone is welcome -- all genders and all bodytypes! if you've got a body and you’re willing to be naked you should be in this project!
it doesn’t matter where you live. every photo for this project is shot remotely, over the phone. you can be in kalamazoo or timbuktu.
please spread the word! if you know anyone who might be interested, send them my way! this project get better and better the more people it has in it!
volunteering for a shoot DOES NOT commit you to being in the final project. if you decide that you hate the photos or you get cold feet about the nudity that is COMPLETELY FINE. you should always feel like you’re in control of the photos, and you can always change your mind. all this does is sign you up for a shoot — you can make the final call about being in the project later on.
in exchange for a few minutes of photos in the venus pose you get a free shoot of anything else you want, lasting up to an hour!
(if you want it! obviously if you just want to snap a quick venus pic and hop off that's totally cool, too!)
(the free shoot has to happen at the same time as the venus shoot — it can’t be cashed in down the road.)
afterwards i’ll send you every photo we took, and you’re welcome to do whatever you want with them.
once again, i'll never use any photo we take without your permission, ever.
